The
project is committed to maintaining complete transparency in all
aspects of their work and especially in regard to financing. As
we are working with donated and collected money we remain very aware
of our responsibility towards our donors.
The
working members of the board, our advisors and partners are all
working voluntarily and for free. Only the locally employed supervisors
and of course the participants are getting paid for their labor.
The level of wages in the Philippines is, compared to western conditions,
very low - but so are living expenses. Nevertheless, we intend at
any time, to pay peoples fairly for their contribution - adhering
to the motto "rather a little too much, than not enough".
However we must be careful to adjust to local standards in order
to avoid creating envy and fragmentation.
The
big auction, conducted by our partner C & C Travel in Copenhagen/Denmark,
raised US$ 27.029.45,-. Out of that amount, we have set aside
US$ 2.400,- to be spent on the test period and implementation phase
to last 4-8 weeks. At the end of this period we will publish a precise
account of all spending on this site.
Our
next step will be the establishment of a permanent carpentry workshop
equipped with machines which can mass-produce semi-finished items.
Those items will all be finished manually in the Mangyan-villages.
Later on we intend to also produce furniture.
So,
if you are interested in updates about our financial reporting then
keep an eye on this page.
